Description
Upper and lower jaws of a large Eurasian lynx are cast in durable urethane resin. Jaw measurements: width 3″ and length 2 5/8″(overall length and width). Jawset is shown with that of a Canadian lynx (the smaller of the two jaws, not included). Only the upper jaw (palate) measurements are given. The mold was taken directly from a real skull, and is detailed down to the pores and texture of the bone. It also includes a portion of the jaw area. This jaw is the perfect size for smaller projects like models, puppets, toys, and other things require a cat jaw with a smaller scale. This urethane can be drilled, sanded and machined and can be glued (hot glue works well) especially if the surface is scuffed or sanded first. These casts are also paintable – however you will need to lightly scuff the surface with a steel wool or scouring pad in order to get good paint adhesion. I got good results with scuffing, wiping with denatured alcohol and then priming with the spray can automotive-type primer available in stores. Then it can be painted with virtually any type of paint.
