Description
This is a urethane plastic jaw cast of a large male mountain lion. Jaw measurements: width = 3 1/8″ = 8.25cm (as measured across the rear molar teeth at the widest point), length = 3″ = 7 3/4cm (as measured from the incisors to the last molar tooth). Only the upper jaw (palate) measurements are given. This would be perfect for use in masks, sculptures, and other art projects, as well as a stand alone piece for educational or reference use. This urethane is paintable with proper surface preparation. The surface should be lightly scuffed with fine grain sandpaper and then wiped clean with denatured alcohol (rubbing alcohol will also work, as will acetone or acetone based nail polish remover). Then an enamel based primer should be applied (Krylon flat white primer works great) and once that is dry, virtually any kind of paint can be used to finish the piece. The urethane foam filling takes hot glue very well and can be trimmed, sanded or sawed to fit.
