Description

Upper and lower jaws of a medium sized domestic dog are cast in durable urethane resin. Jaw measurements: width = 2 3/4″ (6 3/4″cm) as measured across the rear molar teeth at the widest point, length = 4 3/8″ (11 1/4cm) as measured from the incisors to the last molar tooth. Only the upper jaw (palate) measurements are given. This jawset has been offered in response to several requests for a set of canine jaws that are a good deal smaller than the smallest jawset currently offered. This would be perfect for projects that require smaller teeth and jaws that are wolf or dog like, including children’s costumes, masks, reproduction pieces, miniatures, models, etc. Please note that on the bottom jaw there was one incisor that did not erupt so that tooth is naturally missing from the original skull and not broken off. The mold was taken directly from a real skull, and is detailed down to the pores and texture of the bone. It also includes a portion of the jaw bone. Please note – the cast has been filled with yellow urethane foam for added stability; this can easily be trimmed and shaped as desired. It also readily accepts hot glue. These casts are also paintable – however you will need to lightly scuff the surface with a steel wool or scouring pad in order to get good paint adhesion. I got good results with scuffing, wiping with denatured alcohol and then priming with the spray can automotive-type primer available in stores. Then it can be painted with virtually any type of paint.
